The Three Hundred Club

“May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow. May the soft winds freshen your spirit. May the sunshine brighten your heart. May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you, and may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.” ~~Irish Blessings

Don’t you just love that Irish Blessing?

WordPress tells me this is post number 300.  Set off the fireworks! Am I remarkable or what? (That’s a bit of sarcasm in case you missed it.)

Well, technically the post before was number 300, but you’ll have to excuse me, I was off dreaming you see. But all you dreamers out there understand. Sometimes our dreams get in the way of reality, but we do eventually come back down to earth.

On Monday, author Joylene Nowell Butler, will be guest blogging here at Laura Best, Author. Having self published her first novel,  Dead Witness, Joylene’s latest novel, Broken but not Dead, is with a traditional publisher this time around. Read what advice Joylene gives to aspiring authors who are seeking publication. Hope to see you back on Monday.

Happy Friday, and enjoy your weekend to the fullest!

  1. Congratulations on your 300th post, Laura! Woohoo! *claps* Keep ‘em coming! We all enjoy reading them.

    • Thanks so much, Cathy. You are a sweetheart, as always. You are one of the reasons I continue to blog even when those around me are tired of reading what I have to say.. LOL

  2. I’ll be sure to tune in on Monday. Congrats on the 300 posts.

I’m bookmarking this for Monday! And thanks, Laura, for stopping by and leaving this comment on my post about the weather and eBook pricing. You said, “This is wonderful that your book is doing so well, Ann. I’ve also had the pleasure of seeing mine at #1 in its category a few years back when it came out. I was never quite sure what it meant, but like you, it certainly makes us feel good. I wish you continued success.”

    Thanks for your well wishes!

I’ve been wanting to read YOUR book ever since I met you. As you know, on my limited budget I look for the $4 range in eBooks. But I just found yours for the Nook for just a few dollars more (I was trying to find a “copy” to read where you would get paid), and was so excited I downloaded it and hope to read it soon!!

    • Ann, I can’t help but wish you all the best with your book. As one author to another, there is always some way to show our support. How sweet that you downloaded a copy of my book. I truly appreciate all those who have taken the time to read my book, and for those of you who have purchased it, all I can say is we!, You’re double awesome. It means so much.

Glad you also enjoyed the photo and the Irish Blessing. My ancestors, on my father’s side, came from Ireland. I’ve never been there, and likely will never get the chance to go, but it’s always been a place I dreamed of since seeing images of it in high school.

  4. Thanks in advance for a lovely visit, Laura. I know it will be. I’m even wearing my Sunday’s best. Beautiful photo.

    • You’re most welcome (In advance.) I suppose this means I’ll have to clean up around before you arrive…dang! I knew there’d be a hitch. ;)

  5. Congrats on 300 blog posts which I think is amazing!! Keep them coming.

And I LOVE this stunning photograph with the raindrops AND the Irish blessing. Both are awesome!!

  7. Congrats on 300. I am looking forward to your upcoming post on Monday. Having self-published my first I look forward to anyone with insight on the matter.

    I always enjoy your post.

    • Thanks Tim. 300 sounds like a lot especially for anyone starting out, but as they say, slow and steady wins the race. Hope you can make it back on Monday. :)

  8. Congrats on 300, Laura. I made it to the 200 mark this week, but having posted ahead with NaNoWriMo, I totally missed it! I’ll be looking forward to Monday’s post, I know you have a fun weekend in store!

    • Thanks, Patti. :) And congrats to you for reaching 200. I hope all is going well with NaNoWriMo. It’s a huge big commitment for those taking part. You all have my respect..I’d never make it to the end. :)

  9. Wow! Congratulations on 300! :-)

Congratulations on the crossing the “300” threshold.

  11. May there be many many more!!

And yes, I do love that blessing. Just reading it soothes me :)

  12. Am I a procrastinator? oh yeah! Here I am doing some back reading instead of increasing my NaNo word count.

300 blog posts is a great feat, in my estimation, Laura. I’m not even near 200 yet, but I don’t write as often as you do, either — and you were here first.

I don’t get to visit regularly (as you can see by my late comment on this post) but when I do I enjoy what you have to say. You are such a good writer and thinker. Thanks for the continued inspiration.

    • Oh, I meant to add that my father’s ancestors came from Ireland too, and Dad got to visit that country several years ago.
