Procrastination

“Do you know what happens when you give a procrastinator a good idea? Nothing!” ~Donald Gardner

I’ve never considered myself a true procrastinator, but what do I know? Since coming back from my blogging vacation in September, I’ve been attempting to write two posts a week. I’ve been posting Mondays and Thursdays. It’s been working out good for me although there never seems to be enough time to visit other blogs. This working for a living really cuts into the time I could use checking out the blogs I follow. I`m still waiting for that million dollar publishing contract so I can retire from regular work and spend my days eating Mars bars and writing.  ;)

So here it is Wednesday evening and I haven’t a single idea for a post. Could be this makes me a procrastinator. I even asked my Facebook friends if any of them were procrastinators. Apparently, I have more in common with some of them then I originally thought.

But…but…but…I have an excuse.

This week we have company coming from the Washington( a family member we haven’t seen for over ten years and his wife.)  Naturally, there are things I’ve been wanting to do before their arrival yet found myself scurrying around this evening trying to get them done. They’re arriving tomorrow, and there is still plenty to do. Okay, it’s official… I’m a procrastinator.

Hopefully, I`ll be back on Monday with a new post. Do you ever find yourself knee deep in procrastination?

    • I can relate to what you say about working under pressure, Darlene. I’ve got to say I do like deadlines in a twisted sor of way. :)

  3. Laura, you are one of the nicest procrastinators I know. I imagine that doesn’t help, but I just thought I should let you know. Bet your autumn colours are spectacular! Happy company.

    • Thanks Joylene. I was literally getting things done the lst half hour before they arrived.
Our colours are gorgeous. I hope they last for awhile.

  4. I’m beginning to think procrastination is the mind telling people to take it easy or slow down — at least that’s the excuse I will use when I don’t feel like doing anything.

hope you’re having a sweet day.

  5. I’ve written about my procrastination a few times and it’s still something I wrestle with, probably always will. But I’m getting better. For example, my car started making a horrible noise on Saturday and I had it in the shop and fixed by Tuesday. Now, whenever I feel myself putting something off, I ask why? Usually just questioning the motive is kick in the butt enough for me.

In the end though, it’s all about what is important to YOU and how YOU want to spend your time. So have fun!

    • I firmly believe we make time for the things are are important. I never miss deadlines, but on the other hand I’m not the kind of person who usually has things done immediately. There has to be some happy medium. I’m hoping to find it sooner rather than later.

I don’t always procrastinate. For some reasons that seems important to add. ;)

  7. Sadly, I am procrastinating every day. In fact, several years ago I even wrote a poem about procrastination. I plan to do something about that … some day.
