Evening of Music

On Sunday the St. James’ Hand Bell Choir, Dartmouth, came to Christ Church in New Ross for an evening of music and hymn sing.

This talented group put on quite a show. The grace and ease at which they performed made for an entertaining evening.

The Christ Church Choir also sang a medley of hymns.

Money collected from the freewill offering went for the rebuilding of a school in Haiti. Nothing wrong with that, I say! In fact it’s pretty darn neat.

I’m sure they will be invited back next year.

Did many people go to hear them? Sounds pretty neat!

    • The church was pretty full. I took a bit of video, I can show you when we get up,
They came last year but we didn’t get to see them for some reason.

  2. Handbells have such a beautiful sound. In 2000 I initiated a “Festival of Praise” event for churches in our area… a gathering of choristers and instrumentalists for a Sunday afternoon of sharing our favourite music. One of the churches has a handbell choir and it’s always a joy when they participate. (We just had our 11th gathering last weekend.)

    • It was a truly amazing preformance to watch, Carol. I was so glad I was able to alltend this time. Hand bells do have a beautiful sound!
