Okay, so I messed up earlier and some of you received an unfinished blog post. My mind said preview but my fingers hit publish. Brain farts–What can I say? They do happen. Don’t they?
Everyone likes winning awards or at least I hope they do. It always fun to receive some recognition for what we’re doing. A few days back, over on Joylene Butler’s blog, I discovered I’d been awarded the Stylish Blogger Award. I’m not 100% sure what the Stylish Blogger Award means, but I’m willing to accept any award that come my way.. Thanks so much Joylene!
By accepting this award I’m to tell five of my favourite things and then pick five people to pass the award on to.
Here are my five favourite things: I’m going to steer way from the obvious like family, and friends. I couldn’t possible choose a favourite friend or a favourite kid. You all know you’re top of the heap for me so I’m going to dig down little deeper.
1.I’m a sucker for a red sunset. I never tire of watching the sun set, seeing the colours bleed into the western sky at night. There’s something hopeful about a red sunset, the promise of a glorious day ahead.
2.My laplop. Not only is there a great story behind how I got my laptop when the whole family chipped in to buy me one for Christmas one year, but I do nearly all my writing on it now. Just love it!
3.Mars Bars.. If you are one of my FaceBook friends I don’t need to offer much explanation. You already know this. To everyone else trust me when I say that some days you just need a Mars Bar to get you through. Try it!
4.Lavender. I’m a lavender kind of gal! I just love the smell and hope to one day grow some in my presently non-existing flower garden.
5.Wayne Dyer. I know, I know. But I’m a huge big fan of this man. I can’t help it. I own many of his books and I’m on his facebook fanpage.
So there ya go! Five of my favourite things. Much more interesting than say, raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. Don’t ya think?
Here are the five bloggers I’m going to pass this award along to.
1. Carol Ann Hoel –If you want a bit of a spiritual pick me up check out Carol Ann’s blog.
2. Duke1959 — I don’t know anyone who posts more often than Mike. If anyone deserves an award for blogging it’s got to be Mike.
3.Pauline —Brightest Blue. Pauline’s a blogger in the Ottawa area. Check out her other blog as well, Art in the Capital. You’ll find some great stuff there too.
4.Diane Lynn Tibert —Diane’s articles are in news papers and magazines. I’ve been reading her column in the Bridgewater Bulletin for a few years now. We both like history and genealogy and her posts are always interesting to read. She’s also a fellow Nova Scotia writer. Yay!
5.Ciara Knight — Caira writes fantasy and paranormal fiction for young adults. You’ll find a lot of neat things on her blog too.
I hope you have time to check these blogs out. And thanks once again to Joylene. It’s always nice to receive a little love and recognition.

/ February 4, 2011Oh, how I LOVE posts like this where the author reveals a little bit of insight into themselves. Such fun!
I especially like when I am tempted to try something new. (Shhhhh, I’ve never tried a Mars Bar before. Must go remedy that fact immediately)

/ February 6, 2011Wow. What can I say? Thank you, Laura, for passing the award on to me. I’m honoured. One of the great things about this award is ‘meeting’ new bloggers I can visit.
I love lavender, too. I have a large patch growing along the walkway. I drag my hand over the top and send the wonderful aroma into the air. I also pick a branch and stick it in my pocket or set it near where I’m working. When I need a ‘puff of something delicious’, I give it a sniff.

As much as I love Lavender I can say without a shadow of a doubt there is not eough of it in my life. I do plan to remedy this.

In my late-night, overworked haze, I forgot to congratulate you for receiving the award. I’m new to the blogging world and I’m so happy to have come upon your blog. It is an excellent example of what a writer’s blog should be.
By the way, I probably haven’t told you this. I found your blog because I googled your name after reading Bitter, Sweet. I loved it partly because it was set in Nova Scotia and partly because it delved into the world of herbal healing. I encorporate a lot of herbal wisdom and stone powers in my fantasy novels.
