Just wanted to share something I found today.

This is why I never get tired of nature.

  1. Are they blue jay” Do jays lay blue eggs? Or they could be blue heron or blue crab or blue fish eggs.

    • Definitely robin eggs, Carl. We saw mama robin fly out of the tree. Hmm blue fish eggs–now that sounds interesting. 🙂

  8. That kind of discovery is indeed a treasure! Now the question is, will you be able to catch a pic of the babies when they arrive?

    • Treasure is a very good word. I’ve been thinking all day and wondering why a nest of eggs gladdens the heart. But it really does. I’m hoping to go back to get some photos of the babies so stay tuned. I wonder how long it takes robin eggs to hatch? Hmmm

  9. We have a robin’s nest with three lovely blue eggs in our porchlight. I keep checking for hatchlings, but none yet. Yes, a genuine treasure. Please keep us posted on the progress.

    • Will definitely try and keep up with this. The nest is quite a distance from home but I’ll certainly be back.

  11. My girlfriend down the road has a next attached to her window. On the inside of the house they have a slip of cardboard so they can lift it up and take a peek at the babies after they hatch. It is so wonderful to watch them from birth to the day they leave the nest. Really remarkable.

    • I bet they’ll get some nice photos. Great way to watch them grow. Baby birds are so helpless. I’m hoping for a few shots of these at different intervals.
