Happy September!
Already it seems as though summer is over, but we still have three weeks left. When I see asters growing alongside the ditches, I’m always filled with a sense that summer is at an end.
This week I have seen many clusters of blue asters and I know it is soon time for school to begin.
Where does time go? I thought about that today as I printed off a manuscript, wondering how much time had lapsed since I’d written that very first sentence. When it’s finally time to declare a story finished and send it off, I’m usually experiencing mixed feelings. On one hand there’s a feeling of great accomplishment; on the other, a feeling that I’m finally through with these characters and this story and how I will miss them. Can’t have it all I suspect.
I have a few sunrise photos I’m going to post because I’m in the mood for new beginnings. I hope you enjoy them. Some of you may have already seen them on my other blog, but how can one see too many sunrises?
Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead. ~~Louisa May Alcott
May you all reach your highest aspirations.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Trees were green last weekend, and yellowing FAST this weekend . . . sigh. It always comes too fast for me.

/ September 3, 2011Nature sure has a way of creating some spellbinding images. I think many of us don’t spend as much time appreciating nature. It’s a shame.

/ September 3, 2011I empathize, Laura. I’m supposed to be back editing the final draft of my current WIP, yet I’m putting it off. I suppose I’m preoccupied with thoughts of our new grandchild, yet I think it’s more than that. Stopping for a moment, perhaps to smell the shift in the air from summer to fall. Stunning photos, Laura.
