Weekend Plans

You might remember me mentioning that I don’t make lists. Okay, so once in a dog’s age I’ll scribble a few lame lines down on paper and call it good. I’ll admit, it’s been helpful in the past, but I quickly lose interest.

But guess what? Just to show the exciting life of a writer, I decided to make a list of things I hope to accomplish this weekend. Must be the mood I’m in.

1. Have a beer. (I shouldn’t need to put this on the list to remember, but it seemed important after the week I had.)

2. Make a potato salad and hamburger dish for the church’s annual strawberry supper. Mmmmm

3. Have God smile on me while I’m making the strawberry shortcakes for said church supper. I mean volunteer work is good for us all, right? Just call me the strawberry lady.

4.Weed my flower garden. My flowers are crying out for attention. The day they invent weedless gardens is the day I dance naked in the rain.. (Naked in the rain? Where the heck did that come from?)

5.Work on edits for a story I wrote long ago but stopped submitting. (Edits are going quite well, thank you for asking..Yes folks, I know exactly where I’m going with these edits and it feels most excellent.)

6. Read. I’m presently reading a YA book,” Greener Grass.”

7. Housework.Okay, so I threw that one in as a joke..

8. Try *cough* and get caught up on reading all your blogs, or as many as I can..

So there you go. I decided to stop my list at eight because everyone seems to list things to five or ten. I wanted to be different.

Lastly, I’ll leave you with a photo of my honeysuckle vine. It’s gorgeous this year.

What are your weekend plans?

  2. My weekend plans … besides keeping an eye on Dad? hair appointment during a short break, read, have a glass of wine, read, maybe blog, definitely read, hopefully write a pb draft, chat with a friend via Skype, read and … pack to go home for a week. Then I may just read a little. And write something. I hope.
    Enjoy your weekend, Laura! 🙂

  3. Looks like a doable list to me. I loved Greener Grass and also the sequel Wild Geese. Caroline Pignat is a great YA writer. Have a great weekend! We finally have some SUN!!!

  4. I’m not much of a list person, either, and thoroughly enjoyed this one. I think my non list for this weekend is to do what moves me each day.

Your honeysuckle vine is pretty. I imagine it smells wonderful, too. Enjoy your shortcake supper, that’s one of my favorites. 🙂 If you find weedless gardens, I want one, and will dance with you! lol

  6. Laura, start with number five and if you have any time left after completing this task, choose another from the list 🙂

My weekend plans include getting as much written for the current novel I’m writing as I can. Other than that, I have to feed the kids and the animals, and… write more. lol Oh, and eat.

  7. I’m a big list maker, but not for weekends, unless it’s a grocery list. Other than feeding the family, my weekend list includes reading, writing, and some golf. Number 7 would be a joke on my list, too–anytime. 🙂 Have a wonderful time at the strawberry social!

  8. When I make lists, it generally turns out that I only get the most enjoyable task on the said list finished. The rest can, and probably will, go untouched. I’d like to do some reading, too, though I need to take a library run for something new. Maybe give the horse a much-needed bath…
    Have a marvelous weekend! 🙂

  10. I appreciate all your comments. Where would I be without all of your wonderfully suppositive comments, and especially those ones that make me laugh.

I’ve been a bit swamped lately and haven’t had time to respond individually as I usually do. I’ll be back a bit later in the week with a post. 🙂 Enjoy the summer!
