Soar With The Eagles

Never give in to pessimism. Don’t know that you can’t fly, and you will soar like an eagle. Don’t end up regretting what you did not do because you were too lazy or too frightened to soar. Be a bumblebee! And soar to the heavens. You can do it.~~ Earl  Brakken, Commencement address  at University of  Hawaii  2004

I caught  a quick image  of  an eagle  in flight a few weeks back. Whenever I see an eagle it reminds me that we  all have the  ability to soar.  Sometimes  all  it  takes is  for us to spread our wings and try.

  1. I love the eagles… and how you’ve applied your sighting. We’ll never know unless we try.

Coming home at dinner time on Thursday there were four eagles in a tree. I snatched quick photos, but it was already getting too dark. They’re gathering in the Lower Mainland on their annual migration and the four were just a little separated from the main bunch that are mostly on the Harrison River. Such impressive birds!

    • There is a place out in the Valley where eagles gathered. We took the kids there when they were young. There’s a farmer who feeds the eagles from his chicken farm and many were landed on the ground. They are huge and really need to be seen upclose to fully appreciate it. I’m hoping to go this winter when I have more time. Hopefully, I’ll get some worthwhile photos. Loved your eagle photos on Facebook. 🙂

  2. When I am at home, I often see eagles soaring on high. There is a nest not far from us, maybe a kilometer down the road, and two eaglets were hatched in it last Spring.

I forget sometimes that I can soar, “on wings of fatih”, but it’s friends like you who remind me. Thanks, Laura.

  3. They’re all over the lake, this month, and I never get tired of seeing them. So majestic. I can still remember the first time one looked me right in the eye as he was soaring by. It was magic.

    • Yes, they are majestic. I never tire of seeing them. I feel fortunate as I remember the sight of an eagle was not a common thing when I was growing up. Nice to know they’re making a come back. 🙂
