World Book Day

It’s World Book Day. Bet you didn’t know that.

My source tells me that March 7th is World Book Day. (That source being Facebook of course.)

I popped on over to the site only to see Bitter Sweet as one of the books listed. Um, wrong Bitter, Sweet, however. This one has no comma and was written by Cathy Cassidy. Still, kind of a cool coincidence, don’t you think?

In honour of this day why not give a shout-out to a book you think is great, either one you’ve read, one you’ve written or one you hope to write?

War and Peace. I know it’s a classic that everyone’s heard of. But every time I ask an avid reader if they’ve read W&P, they always shake their head. What’s with that, people! This is a fabulous book that is well worth the read.

  3. In 33 years as high school teacher I think it would be fairly accurate to say at least half have never read one single book cover to cover.

  4. I obviously missed that FB post because I didn’t know yesterday was World Book Day. Shows you how observant I am! And I didn’t read *at all* yesterday, which is unusual for me. I have the e-versions of several Jane Austen’s books and have just started rereading Pride and Prejudice, trying to discern what has given it such ‘staying power’ over the years.

    • I didn’t know it was happening until I saw it on someone’s FB. I usally say if I didn’t see it on FB it didn’t happen. I haven’t read Pride and Prejudice athough I have a copy I picked up at a library sale one time, I might have to give it a try.

I didn’t realize it was World Book Day, either. It shares my daughter’s birthday, too.
