My Take Away

We had beautiful weather for the big book launch and sale outside Open Book Coffee yesterday. Simply gorgeous. Except for a book signing at LaHave River Books last weekend, this was my first public event for my newly published book. Dang pandemic. But it’s good to see that some of these events are beginning to happen.

I finally got to do my first public reading of GOOD MOTHERS DON’T. Look at that beautiful blue sky.

I signed some books with the help of managing editor Whitney Moran. (Sorry Hubby cut your head off, Whitney. He’s not the best photographer but he does come to all my events!) Someone told me they purposely came to the event to get a signed copy of GOOD MOTHERS DON’T. That was music to this author’s ears. I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it: I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received over the years.

I also came home with some great books I’m looking forward to reading. If you didn’t make the sale you missed out on some great bargains.

Finally, here’s my take away from the book launch and sale.  I’m taking it as a sign of good things to come!

I hope your Saturday was as fun as mine. Thanks for reading!

  1. It looks like the perfect day for a book launch. I love that big sign!! I´m so pleased you were able to do an in-person launch and signing.

    • Yes, it was nice, Darlene. They had 10 authors doing events all day for those of us who couldn’t do a regular launch. Nice to see events beginning to happen now. 😀

  2. Wow, that’s one big book! Lol. That’s an awesome keepsake to hang on the wall for inspiration. Glad the day turned out so good and the weather cooperated.

  3. Hope you found a good home for your giant book! See you sometime…

    • Well, you know what it’s like with a giant book. I’m constantly running into it. 😀 Yup, hoping to see you sometime in the not so distantly future. I guess we shall see.

  4. Nice you were able to have this outdoor event. It would be something we couldn’t have down here. We’re pretty much still struggling with the coronavirus down here. While we have a mandatory mask order, it is not rigorously enforced. It is largely left to the business on how it wants to enforce the mask order, or any other restriction, that may be in place.

    Stay well, stay safe.

PS – Nice giant book cover. 🙂

    • Sorry to hear that you’re still struggling with the virus in your area. I know the US has been hard hit. We’ve been very fortunate so far in our little province. No new cases here for days and I believe only one active case at the moment. This could change quickly, tough. Our Premier has been strict and it’s paying off. Thankfully. Take care, David.
