The End of an Era

“Time will pass and seasons will come and go.” Roy Bean.

All things come to an end, it’s part of the flow and ebb of life as we know it. There are times when we may choose to believe it to be different, that the people in our lives will always be there, but that’s impossible.

Yesterday marked the passing of our queen and it was a sad day for many of us. It has been wonderful to see the photos and clips of Her Majesty over the years, something that technology so easily allows.

I wanted to share some photos that I love of Queen Elizabeth that were published in some old magazines and perhaps ones that are not being shown on social media. I hope you enjoy them.

When looking into the eyes of this young princess, it is hard to imagine all that lies ahead for her.

What we can say is that she lived a good long life and was adored by many.

You are so right. It is unfortunate that she and hubbie did not adorn their children with great affection. That is what bothers me about the Royal Family the most.

She loved corgis and horses more. The Royal Family always was a freak show when you really think about it realistically

  2. I love these photos. The Queen loved dogs all her life, one of the many things I loved about her. She will be missed.

  3. After she passed, I realised that most people in the world will not have known another queen or king of England. Where she reined for 70 years, anyone younger than 75 would not know anyone else.

    Times certainly are a changing.

I remember a question I was asked once in a interview for a job and it was ” If you could spend a day with someone who would that be?” My answer was “Queen Elizabeth”. I could not imagine anyone more delightful or more interesting. I remember the photos you posted and I remember the day King George died.

    • I’m sure there are many people who would have enjoyed spending the day with her. She saw many things in her lifetime. Thank you for visiting my blog, Ethel and for leaving a comment. 🙂
