Book launch

The launch for Bitter, Sweet took place at the East Dalhousie Community Centre on October 25, 2009. We had a great turn out, with over 170 family, friends, neighbours, and some of the folks from Nimbus Publishing attending to show their support.

Good friends decorated the Community Centre for the day. Cool poster, I even got to take it home with me!

Good thing we had a guest book to keep track of everyone!

When asked beforehand how many people I thought might attend the launch, I would always joke "well, I know my mum will be there!" I was right -- here she is!!

Someone commented later that this was a good test for the newly refinished hardwood floor at the Centre!

I read an excerpt from the chapter where the Burbidge family first moves to Dalhousie.

The lovely Caitlin Drake, my editor at Nimbus. Caitlin was a real doll to work with!

A few people wanted bookmarks signed as a keepsake.

Terrilee Bulger, sales rep for Nimbus Publishing. At the end of the day, the books were all sold out. A fitting conclusion to a perfect book launch.
