The New Cover

Here is the cover image for my new book. I’m told the text could possible change for the final, but this is the image we’re going with. As my editor said, “There are so many layers of meaning in a relatively simple image.”  If you read the book, I’m sure you’ll agree. As with the cover for my first book, simple seems to work well for the right kind of book.

  2. Looks great. Seems to fit title in an enchanting way. I am going to publish my own cartoon books through local printer. My covers were made by myself with drawing and keyboard typing and cut pasted paper and looks kinda primitive but the hand drawn homemade look is my appeal according to many.

  7. I don’t know. It doesn’t really let the reader know about the post-apocalyptic setting, or the zombies that sparkle in daylight. Also, I don’t really see anything referencing the superior race of robot overlords from Planet Eplison Delta T.

  11. Hi, Laura: I’m sure what I expected, but it was a lady on the cover. I guess what I was thinking was like something flying, or flying because of a broken wing. Anyway I’m not a writer so what do I know…..LOL But, of course, I will still be waiting to buy one to see what your twisted mind has come up with this time….Your going to have to come up with something great to beat your last book….I really can’t wait to read it…..And you know that I wish you all the best with this one…..

      • Don’t worry about the typos. I have the option of editing my mistakes, you don’t. 😉 It always amazes me where they come up with these images for book covers. I really had nothing in my mind. I had no idea what to expect.

  16. The images together work great. I can see where they might change the font though. Your name gets lost because the business at the bottom. I’m sure they’ll choose a better colour, size or font so readers will see it easier. Looking forward to reading it.

    • Thanks, Diane. I did notice my name appears a bit bigger than the first book. Must mean I’ve stepped up a little in the world of publishing. Waiting for the day when my name appears huge…lol.. Just kidding. It’ll be interesting to see what changes do come. 🙂

  19. looks good to me. I like the author name is smaller than the title. that used to be the way it was. now the author’s name is so huge on the cover, I often missed the title, sometimes even misread them.

wishing you lots of success with this one. have a sweet day.

    • Thanks, Lissa! You’re right about the author name over-shadowing the title. Of course that’s reserved for big-name that sell. I don’t have that problem,,,yet!

It’s a very compelling cover – you don’t know if the young girl is facing you, or you’re looking from behind her.

Many good wishes with your new novel.
